Itajime Shibori

The process of folding fabric, and then clamping it between boards is the Itajime technique of Shibori dyeing. The fabric is folded into vertical pleats of squares, rectangles and triangles and placed between two shapes of wood board or metal and clamped. The shapes of the wood or metal determine the resulting pattern onto the dyed fabric. Check out some of my new creations!!!

Shibori Collection

This collection was created using Shibori which is a Japanese word for manipulating fabric by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, or compressing then dyeing the cloth to create resist dyed fabric.

Woodblock Inspired Designs

This line is hand-drawn, digitally designed and printed onto silk. I was working on a design project that lead me to Scandinavian woodblocks and I was incredibly inspired.

Inanna Collection

I call this Inanna, because all of this work reflects the Goddess nature. Inanna was a Sumerian Goddess, and my work is reminiscent of Near East designs. These are all hand-dyed, silk-screened, on silk.
